Often people come to a conclusion that turbo is basically a vehicle boosting device. The turbo charge is a unique piece of engineering. It help to increase or raise the volume of air that is been drag into an engine combustion champers by the retreating pistons into a very pressurise space.
The turbo-chargers are forced inductions systems, meaning it compress the air flowing into the engine. This compression causes each cylinder of an engine to produce more power.
Once this air travel through the intake manifold and end up in the combustion chambers, the process is always during the compression stroke, the temperature of the air increases, which is know as a pressurised combustion gas , the inlet valve is completely shut, same goes for the exhaust valve. Timed Fuel is injected into the combustion chamber and mixed with the very hot air ,during this process the fuel charge ignited-expand and forces the pistons to bottom dead centre, at a force that double an engine without turbocharge.
By increasing the amount of air into the combustion chamber , you are increasing the speed-force-torque-power needed to retreat-return the piston back to the bottom dead centre of an engine quicker than an engine without a turbocharge.
This power generated help to turn the engine crankshaft faster than an engine with no turbo. This mechanical force generated travel through the transmission and end up in the differential axle, it help increase the driving speed-force of the driveshaft the vehicle wheel is bolted to, than a vehicle with no turbocharge.
Below are various video tutorial to help your understand the magic of the turbo charge.
